Secure pages and folders
You may notice that some of your pages might havea padlock on them. This is an indicator that your page is secure. A secure page should only be used for pages that contain sensitive information. Information such as customer address, username, password, order information and any other type of information that your customer would not like to be leaked to the public.
By default we make your checkout pages secure along with your "My Account" information. All other pages are not secure such as products and text pages. You might be asking your self why not make all pages secure? well the answer is simple, secure pages are slower because your browser has to decrypt the information that our server is sending it. Granted the speed is not very different, but when selling online every milisecond counts.
In order to make a page or a folder secure on our software all you have to do is:
- Click "Webpages" from your top navigation
- Find the page and click on the plus sign
- A popup will now open and you will find a checkbox that says "secure"
- Click the checkbox and hit update
- If you did it correct you should see a padlock next to the page / folder name
